Each therapist, healer or helping professional approaches problems in different ways.  It’s helpful to learn about your therapist’s approach and choose someone who views problems and solutions in ways that make sense to you.  I view people as naturally moving toward health: we do what we can to find balance in our life. Problems arise when old methods of keeping balance no longer work. Or maybe an extreme situation requires an extreme reaction in order to keep some balance – physically, emotionally and in relationships. Balancing extremes can work for a short time but over the long run usually leads to crisis or exhaustion.

I am a licensed psychotherapist in my 15th year of practice. I recently relocated from New York City where I directed a community-based child and family therapy program. I have experience helping children, adults and families with ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma and chronic pain. I am also very experienced in working with relationship issues, anger and irritability, motivation and energy issues, eating disorders and learning problems. Please see MY SPECIALTIES (below) for more information.

I see my therapist role as a caring guide in helping to reveal underlying imbalances which are causes of conflict, pain or “stuckness,” in your life. And to help you find enjoyable new ways of balancing life that supports your happiness, health and relationships.

MY SPECIALTIES…

Holistic Psychotherapy

Imbalances can exist on one or more levels (mind, body, relationship) so that a solution on one level may not last if there is a more fundamental imbalance on another level. This can be frustrating when you have tried many things in the past that helped somewhat but not enough for lasting results.  So to support lasting whole health, I offer methods addressing different levels of being. See Holistic Methods chart at the end of this page.

Therapy for ADHD, anxiety, depression, or bipolar disorder without medication, or help getting off or decreasing medication, or natural methods to compliment medication treatment. Children and Adults. With medical consultation when indicated.

Chronic Fatigue, Chronic Pain, Fibromyalgia, Cancer, Autoimmune Disorders, Arthritis, Back Problems, Neuropathy, Sciatica, Physical Injury, other health issues, and related Loss, Anger, Depression, Communication, Stress, Anticipatory Grief.

Trauma

Compassionate, comprehensive individual, couples and family counseling for past or recent sexual, physical, emotional abuse or neglect. Adult children of alcoholics or substance abusers. Addiction issues.

ABOUT ME…

I use traditional psychotherapy, mind body methods and holistic nutrition to access of each person's inner resources for health and healing. I do not use power based methods or methods that blame, label, pathologize, have negative physical side effects, mask symptoms or dull your personality. I start by listening to your experience, your life, family or health goals and how you would like to work together. I can work with you individually, with all or part of your family, with other health providers or with teachers depending on what is right for you.
