Pool Ubillus
Therapist Intern, supervised by Dr. Stephanie Knarr, LCMFT
My name is Pool Ubillus. I was born in Lima, Peru and migrated to the states when I was 5 years old. I have lived in the Silver Spring, MD area since I came from Peru. I am finishing up my Master’s degree in mental health counseling at McDaniel College. I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology at University Of Maryland College Park.
My goal is to create a safe space for clients to be able to open up about themselves and their needs. I’m a firm believer that therapy is a team effort. It can only be done if both counselor and client come together to accomplish a goal together. It will not work if one doesn’t meet the other in the middle to build and work together. I hope to be able to work together with you and create a safe environment for us to connect.
I love the DMV and the melting pot of cultures that it comes with, I’m a bit of a foodie so I love being able to have access to so many different types of foods from all over the world. I’m an avid traveler. I have been to over 12 countries and I hope to keep the list going.
I have had experience working with a wide demographic ranging from transition aged youth (16-21 year olds) and also working with an older group such as 30-65 year olds all from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds. I can’t wait to meet you and look forward to everything we can accomplish!
