Gabbriele Edinger
Therapist Intern, supervised by Dr. Stephanie Knarr, LCMFT
I believe that everyone has their own story to tell, and I aim to create a safe place for them to share with me. Everyone experiences life differently and can be affected differently. My hope for counseling is to be a part of your journey and assist you through the hard times and the good times.
I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology at Lock Haven University, and I am working on my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lock Haven University. I will graduate with my telemental health and trauma-informed care certificate. I recently moved to Fredrick, Maryland from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I have personal experience with mental health and have gone through the process as a client. I believe having these experiences will allow me to be myself and relate to a client. It can feel like you are the only one going through a challenging time, but it is important to remember you are not alone!
My professional experience and background include working with children and adolescents as a behavioral health technician (BHT). For the past two years, I have worked with a child who has experienced trauma, anxiety, and depression. Through this experience, I have learned to allow the client to guide the treatment process while providing the necessary tools to help guide the client. I will take this experience and bring it to the counseling setting.
I aim to create an empathetic, nonjudgmental, and receptive environment throughout the counseling relationship. Each session I will bring my authentic self and provide a safe space to express yourself in many ways. You may find me energetic, warm, and sincere. I will also challenge thoughts or behaviors to provide a new perspective.
